| While the phone appears "faster" in getting to submenus, etc., I was surprised to find that unlike the last update, I had to call Verizon to reactivate. Remember that the update wipes out all data and downloaded programs. It appears that programs I had downloaded in the past that caused conflicts now work. Also when the listening to media, the phone no longer crawls when attempting other functions. I recommend this update to anyone with an original Q. | |

| The download worked great. The submenus do have quicker access. The only downside it would not upgrade software and save my contacts even with using Activesync, software instructions, and with further assistance from Verizon. My whole contact list with emails, addresses needed to be reloaded. The Battery life with a 1640 mah battery has significantly increased. I would highly recommend this update. | |

| My wife had that problem and we fixed it by setting up the profile with active sync, turned off the contacts, then turned it back on and then they synced it again and they started going to the device again. | |

| The download is fabulous. Using Activesync, and following the instructions that Microsoft provides on the download page makes the upgrade virtually seamless. As far as the battery life, the upgrade is amazing. When I fully charge before going to bed at night, I was used to seeing 2 bars by noon the next day even without using the phone. It's noon right now, and I'm still at 4 bars and I've used it a few times. The only problem I had with the phone is now fixed. | |

| This upgrade ran ok for me too, but I'm still astonished with a process that includes "reload your third-party applications and content". Sure, I did a Sprite backup first and it restored almost everything (it logged some errors and Voice Command 1.6 won't start any more, I reinstalled that, and BTW, it works better now than before the update), but I still think the whole process is way too complicated. Is any other platform better when updating firmware? | |

Is there any way to determine which version of the software is installed. I recently had the phone replaced under warranty, and if the update is installed, it will save me the problem of having to contact Bell Mobility to have the phone reset. I tried the update on my previous phone, and besides having to call Bell to reset the phone, the Blutooth would not work, so I am a bit leery to try it again if I do not have to. Thanks, |

| The battery life on my Q has been a total disgrace. I downloaded the upgrade, charged the battery and I am totally amazed at the improved battery life. I have been using the phone throughout the day for calls, email and web browsing and at 10pm, I still have 2 bars. I would never have made it til noon before the update. A must for Q owners. | |

While this upgrade seems to deliver extended battery life and, at least subjectively, some performance improvement, it is not without overhead. There are 3 key things to know: 1. Do Backup your files first--everything is wiped out including your email settings. 2. Please do take the time to check the 'read me file' as it contains information about the Microsoft Flash Driver that you will be prompted to add in the course of the update. 3. You will need to call Verizon and have them update your phone after you have done the upgrade. If you do not you'll be unable to access the web or your email. |
