Maybe the OP would like to know how to convert those movies to a form that can be viewed using TCPMP. Here is where I found a workable procedure:

This procedure not only 'rips' the movie from DVD and converts it to AVI format, but also reduces the size to fit the Q screen.

MS Internet Explorer 6.0
This works great. BUT i had to use the 0.72RC1 version. The 0.71 version just locked up myQ.

You can also use PocketTV Classic (freeware) to view MPEG movie files.
We have done the necessary adaptations to PocketTV (MPEG Movie Player) to support the Motorola Q. You need version 1.2.8 or later.
Performances on the Motorola Q appear excellent: Video encoded at 500 Kbit/sec in 320x240 resolution play in fullscreen at full frame-rate (up to 30 frames/sec).
