How can I lock the keyboard on my Motorola Q smart phone

There are several ways to lock the keyboard on the Motorola Q smartphone.

The first way to lock your keyboard is to:

  • Press and hold the Home button
  • Use the 5 way navigator to select "C", Key Lock

The other option is easier and quicker method of locking the keyboard.

  • Press the Home button quickly followed by the 'Space' bar.

Thanks - great. But how do I override Motorola's stupid decision to make me use a real password. Like the other posters, I am only trying to avoid inadvertant keystrokes when in my pocket, not put into sleath mode. Punching a 4 stroke password every minute it sits inactive is annoying.

Inadvertent calls and pictures have been a problem. This helpful instructions should be made part of the Help on the Q. This makes it possible for me to continue to use it and not have to switch to something else.

I am a seasoned Treo user and the key feature many of our firm are disappointed in, is the inablity to Autolock with you go to time out...the Q software requires this be done EVERYTIME by manually locking - a chore, when it is going in and out of your pocket all day...and yes, even though it is not touchscreen, the keys activate too much unintentionally.
