Way to sync outlook calendar and tasks without Activesync
Hey there,
I work for a big company who has some strict IT guidelines such that they have removed the ability to install some programs without admin privilages.
Now Activesync is one of those programs that would definitely not install but I want to be able to sync my work calendar and tasks to my Q9h so that I can take this information with me.
I'm no IT expert so I am not sure which programs need admin privilages to install, but is there a sync program that is a simple installation that might work for me? I don't want to have to export the outlook files to my own computer everytime and sync from home cause its quite annoying.
i do not know of an alternative (and from seeing the number of amounts not all lot of folks do :}
i would think -guessing you have a Windows based network- that Active Sync wouldn't be a problem since it's made by Microsoft.
i do the IT work at my job (one of my many tasks..) and i prevented ALL software from being installed, changes are they did the same at your work. just talk to the IT guys/gals.
Well I have installed things like googleearth and other programs before so it isn't that all software is banned. I know talking to the IT fellows won't work cause they strictly prohibit third party devices being plugged into the network. Its Windows XP system that is networked through the entire corporation.
