Unplugging Q Cripples LAN Access I am having an odd issue with my new Q9c. I plug in my Q to sync my calendar and contacts (Lotus Notes). I get my email via POP3 for the moment until I get IMAP or something else to work better.
Anyway, when I plug in the Q, it seems like it creates some sort of LAN connection to my Laptop. I can see the connection in Windows and it assigns a bogus LAN IP to the Q (169.254.2.229)
When I have the Q connected, it looks like all my internet traffic still goes out via my normal LAN connection on my laptop (it better since I do not have a plan that allows tethering). On that note, is there a way to make sure my phone is NOT allowed to act as a modem?
My main issue arises when I unplug the Q. All of a sudden, all my network connections die and I have to reboot the computer to get them back. IPCONFIG /ALL shows my node type as Peer-Peer and IP routing is OFF, which I have never seen before. I am not able to disable the LAN adapters in the laptop or docking station or anything to recover. The only recovery is to reboot.
Has anyone else seen this sort of behavior?
Thanks in advance. |
