System Tools or Repair Added note of consideration

I know that its been handled and it might be beating a dead horse, but I had a period during which there was not way to explore the device as somehow x64 Vista was being stupid and then updated MDC fixed that problem.

However, someone else had a problem closer to what you stated and the reason it works in one window and not in two is whether or not you have set your shell to open each instance of the explorer in a different process.

You can check this under folder options and there is a checkbox that says open each explorer in a different process. Somehow that difference in the process thread has an issue. It should be noted that it has been fixed but in case you still have this trouble or want to use two windows to transfer files, uncheck that box and happy moving.

Yeah Guardian, this thread is over a weewk ago..lol

Besides, using your storage card to transfer the files over from your PC to your Q is sooooooooooooooo much faster, don't know why anyone would actually use Actice Sync to do it??????

Informative

I realize its over a week old, that's why I said it might be beating a dead horse but just in case someone with this problem comes around and finds this post which is not going anywhere, I wanted them to have some more information which might help them.

Thanks for dropping a line though, at least I am not the only one watching this besides, I agree with you that moving it through ActiveSync is just bad, but to each its own.

I was just needling ya Guardian....LOL

I put 1 Gig MPG4s onto my Q to watch during my down times at the jobsite so I have transferred numerous movies from my PC to my Q countless times already... and transferring it by inserting my MiniSD card into my PCs' card reader and then doing a simple cut(or copy) and paste is lightning fast compared to doing it thru Active Sync. You may not notice on the smaller files, but on these full blown videos that are 1 Gig, that's where you 'wil' notice a night and day difference.

But it's good that you bumped this thread up since I missed it the first time around...

I figured. Thanks. I NEVER transfer files to my phone using ActiveSync, small or otherwise. I have Vista and I can just open my drive up and drop anything in the shell and viola. Much faster, agreed.
