help with activesync and XP

my PC won't recognize my Q. How do I reinstall it without removing the Activesync that I have. I can't redownload it because I only have internet on my Q now. TIA

try to delete the partnership with active sync and then sync again and see if that works

No it never coul partner. I plugged it in and it tried to install but said there was a problem. Then I opened AS and tried to get it to find the phone it never could. I think I need to uninstall the driver from the computer so it thinks it's new again. The last time I did that though I lost my printer totally, so I'm leary of it.

So I tried the troubleshooting wizard and it says this
"The driver installation file for this device is missing a necessary entry. This may be because the INF was written for Windows 95 or later. Contact your hardware vendor."
Any thoughts?

This may be a silly question but have you done the following:

1) Reboot the PC (Sorry that is the tech support specialist in me)
2) Tried another USB port. I had the same issue and it turnned out to be a USB port issue.

Okay, so I got it to sync (I think I'm the last person on the planet to not have SP2 on XP.) Anyway how do I convert works files to pxl? I have an order form that I created and want it on the q. Also I downloaded a homescreen and the q says it's not certified or something. I went to the site that I got it from and their instructions have me installing via activesync explore, in a specific place. How do I put items in any other place than the drag-n-drop spot?
I know these are some pretty basic questions but please bear with me.

I am not sure what a pxl file is. What types of files did you want to access? You most likely will need third party software to make any changes to those files since the Q doesn't come with many apps for editing.

.pxl is pocket exel. I got the 'ported' office 6 from the hellomotoq website and I can only see the one file that I saved as a text file. Shouldn't I be able to at least view works files? If not I need to know how to save them so they are veiwable. TIA

The Q doesn't have pocket excel, but you can view regular excel files on it by using the Viewer Software. If you want to edit the documents you can purchase a program called Documents 2 Go. It is a very good app and provides all of the important fuctionality as Word, Excell and Powerpoint. It isn't expensive either.
