Default Alt. to Outlook found!

I figured coming in as a nooB, I might as well toss in a bit of useful information.

I do not care for outlook on my computers, that said I wanted a different option to my newly purchased Q. I have had Treos since the 300 .

Anyways, here is what I found
Mozzila Thunderbird.... no biggie I am sure you have seen it.
Then as an add on, I got Birdiesync. http://www.birdiesync.com/download.html

I synced my Treo700WX and my MotoQ.
All my contacts moved over without a hitch, well except one.
I had to reinstall Birdiesync to get teh cab file onto the Q.

just make sure "CARDS" are checked in your settings, not CONTACTS.

That is all please carry on

I had never heard of Thunderbird. Actually just started using Firefox and Opera on my PC and like certain aspects on certain sites.

A quick look and this seem more like Outlook Express than Outlook, unless I'm missing something. I use Outlook mostly for the calendar, contacts, tasks and notes. My email is IMAP AOL so I use Profimail on my Q and leave the saved folders on AOL's server with a copy on my Q.

Did I miss something or is this just email and contacts?

Is there another way to sync the Q with Thunderbird and Lightning? Thinking of trying it on my Laptop that doesn't have Outlook and would be nice alternative.

The sync is done by BirdieSync, it just dumpa the info into the programs.
SO I guess you could call it a conduit(?)

Then the 19 euros aren't optional or are you saying the program works w/o purchasing after 21 days?

Mozilla makes kick ass apps... imo. most things/features you want are available as add-ons (in most cases freeware, but obviously there are developers who do charge for it..)
