Four paragraphs and no real answer. Gotta love Verizon sometimes.

They are not saying you can not upgrade ( although I doubt it... ) but they are saying they can not comment on something they do not offer. ie, they can not speculate on whether or not we can upgrade, because things change.

Sit tight...

I really hope that they do release an upgrade of some sort, but I'm pretty sure that they will keep it exclusive for the q9 when it comes out, because thats just how Verizon is.

Well carriers don't want to jump on the bandwagon just because there's a new version out. VZW as well as manufacturers have to thoroughly test the new version on their different devices before rolling it out (as well as train their staff on it too).

It's like at work, we finally upgraded to XP sp2. There are countless apps we run that had to be vetted to make sure they work reliably.

My guess there will be no "official" upgrade, but we'll be able to pick up an upgrade with a hack or two through Mobile phone tools or something. I would give it 6 months.

in this case with the failure rate of the phone, and the software issues numerous people are calling about, I would think it would be in VZW best intress to allow an upgrade to WM 6.0. If there was nothing wrong with WM 5.0 and people jsut wanted the newier facier thing, then I would say No also. But we are all experiencing glitches and things that just to "jive" like they should. While some of them are Hardware/Firmware issues, some are WM 5.0. Let us upgrade.

You might have something there. Of course, if you have VZW depending on you contract, you could always upgrade then. I've got 11 mos, 28 days before I can upgrade to the Q9, IF VZW picks it up! Or, if the one I have tears up before the warranty, I might could get a Q with WM 6.0. But, with my luck, it would suck.

My guiess as i stated earlier will be only a "unofficial upgrade" will be allowing us to upgrade. Verizon is SLOW on upgrades if any. They just released AKU 3.3 for the PPC6700, which has been out for about 4 years now. How long has the update been out? A LONG TIME!
