There also is the possibility a that when Verizion releases the WM6 upgrade that their stock might benefit from it. If this is the case they are not releasing the information because it would count as "insider information" and would present Verizion with some very interesting legal issues.

WRONG...
VZW is owned by STAKEHOLDERS. This means that it is NOT a publicly traded company and thus does not have STOCK. The reason that we are not telling you to upgrade or don't is very simple.
Verizon Wireless likes to make sure that all software has been fully tested and that majority of or ALL bugs are worked out. VZW is never first to release anything. Now since you own your phone the company cannot tell you to NOT update the device to WM6. However, VZW is not pushing to have the device upgraded by its users to WM6 until there is a semi-guarrantee that it is wroking fairly well and that there won't be a lot of complications or unhappy customers coming back because of malfunctions.
