then it starts to install. The Q9c show it is booting from flash and that the USB cable is connected. Then the error shows up.

I've tried again several times, even called Motorola support and talked to 4 different people. In the end the guy said I may have to send my phone in because clearly it does not want to update. I have the update on my computer, but I can't figure out how to do it via my phone with WMDC because I can't find it when I add it.

Which version of WMDC do you have? What type of Vista?

I'm not sure how to know which version of WMDC, it's from the CD that came with the device. I have no clue how to tell which version of Vista I'm running, but I've only had the computer for about a month. I'm not extremely technically inclined, my apologies.

I have verizon the cd that came with the phone was active sync which won't work go to microsoft and download windows mobile device center and also go into settings and UNCHECK allow advanced network connection. should work then

I always have that unchecked, but I read for the update it needs to be checked. The update software won't recognize my phone when it's not checked. But thanks!
