Default VZW and SMTP

Need a little Help, I'm able to receive e-mail from cox.net but not able to send e-mail, I have SMTP.WEST.COX.NET setup as the outgoing server?

thx in advance
that specific smtp may not allow relaying (as not not many actually allow)... which means it checks when you use that server if you are connecting from one of their services, which you probably are not on the Q...

If you set up an account via verizon vztext.com you can use their SMTP servers instead of your ISP's SMTP server for your outgoing emails.

Some SMTP servers might let you send even if you're not on their network if you log in to them using the username/password you use to retrieve your POP mail. Not all do, of course. Just another suggestion.

sorry for the stupid question, but how do i set up an account via verizon to be able to use their SMTP servers instead of my cox.smtp ?
