Please don't include me in "OUR WAY!" Your way sounds like getting data for free. VZW doesn't offer that. Although paying $45 per month is not my favorite thing to do, it works, and works well.

The OP's problem was not paying for data, it was getting bad information from a customer service rep. Unfortunately, you will find that in a lot of organizations. If the OP had gotten correct infomation, there would be no problem. Please don't turn it into a "let's get data for free" campaign.

First off you are not paying very good attention! There is nothing your are going to be able to do over your phone that is FREE! NOTHING. Everything is monitored and logged by computers from minutes used to data to text. Before You Label "Data for Free Campaign" You should do a little more research or PM me and ask what I mean?

To get back to the subject. What we or I am trying to do is a work around from the high speed data connection that the q "Forces" you to connect at. So that verizon can either charge you per kilobyte or according to your data plan. The work around "Still charges you" (FYI) it just uses your minutes (which if you have the proper plan does not cost you) The drawback is it can eat lots of minutes and the speed is not as fast as EVDO. And from reading around this post there are alot of people that would be interested in this as they do not use the internet as much as would cost for a data plan.

Again before you Label someones comment please research and read!

I did read the posts. You're trying to find a way to use Quick-2-Net on a device and plan that it's not intended to be used on. Let us know how you make out with that.

Actually I am trying to find a way to give us a choice. As for intended to be used on? Well, I am sure your such a puritan you have never driven your car over the speed limit. After all thats not what its intended and I suppose you don't use the MotoHack program either. Since its not intended for the phone and OMG its a HACK

Anyways, Q2N, EVDO, HighSpeedNetwork, or whatever it is. Its a choice that the phone can do and handle. Not to mention help out alot of people like the Original guy who started this post. If he would have had a choice he could have avoided the Large cellular bill that he acquired. These phones are like little computers that or ours to play with and enjoy. So lets have fun with them and not bicker over choices and opinions.

This forum is full of opinions. That's part of the enjoyment of reading it, so let's NOT keep them out of the discussions. Your opinion is that we should have choices, and we do. There are limited and unlimited data plans and voice/data bundles to choose from.

Your opinion is we should have the choice of using minutes for data. I don't disagree, I am just stating the obvious--VZW doesn't agree with you and they don't offer it as an option.

Does that mean we should hack WM to find a work-aound? This is where opinions come in. Ours differ so I'll leave it at that and stop posting in this thread.

Well, Hmmm since there are several Verizon employees that are members of this forum and some of which have responded to some of my post and none have mentioned VERIZON not agreeing..... So based on your response your not only stating an opinion but now you are speaking for all of VZW and their empolyees including their policy and procedures..... UH OK!

I have monitored this thread and decided to finally voice myself a bit. The whole point of this forum is for the exchange of information. Let's set aside opinions and agruements for awhile. The "our way" generalization I have to disagree with. That doesn't mean free. Tweaks edits whatever you want to call them are for us to enjoy our phone to it's fullest, not violate policies. We don't need to bypass the network so that we can get something for nothing.

Post in here don't post in here...just don't anyone generalize statements to include everyone. I blatantly let everyone know I work for VZW so that I can help everyone out. When "us" means that I am included in these violations, I may be more inclinded to close down membership and withdraw any help. There is my 2 cents and I'm staying neutral not picking a side in the arguement....

How about now we get back to the matter at hand andthe point of the thread.

Maybe I should clarify My view (I though I had) but I am not looking to get anything for free. If I was I would just buy me a cloned phone off the net and be done with it. I was just looking for the options, path, files to change to open up more choices of the phone. I don't think this is any different than Verizon Crippling the DUN on several of their phones to force you to use their network (There is nothing wrong with that, Its a business Choice). I know many people that found the work around to open the DUN up on their phone to do what they wanted. Not to mention any of us using the MotoHack to change things or registry settings. I dont think the flash was desiged to be a flashlight either but there is a $5.00 program out there that turns it into one. There aren't any of us so pure as to say we have not Done something to the phone that it was not oringal designed for. So I am not real clear on what you mean by "Violation" but everything I do on my phone I pay for. If I do find the work around for avoiding the high data charges there is a price. 1. Its not highspeed, 2. it uses my minutes so I am not real sure what or if I am violating anything as I am still paying Verizon.

I thought this was a forum of information and swapping Ideas. Not for bashing someones comments. Or imposing puritan ideas. On my other post which even digs deeper into the DATA for Dollars problem NO ONE ever has mentioned Cheating, Stealing, Violating or Trying to get something for nothing. I guess I am guilty of taking up for my commets. You want find me initiating any negative comments on someones post, but I will take up for my comments. I do appologize if I have offened anyone or if anyone thinks I am try to get something free. I will post back in my original post on "Paying for Internet" If i do bumble across a work around I doubt very seriously I will post it to you guy's. Again I do appoligize

Very good answer. As far as violating here it will apply to the use of it all as highspeed data, or a work around. All the small print of the TOS.

As far as this thread....I believe it just killed itself. The use of minutes instead of the data is bending the rules. If you find the correct edit then it would be something worth sharing. At that point it would be at each persons discretion to use or not since it would one day be noticed on VZW's side eventually. Good luck with the hack.
