ANother thing that would be interesting is if ATT offered a "trial period" (yes I know fat chance on that) or maybe a 1 year service agreement instead of the 2 year.
For three phones (including one q9c) with unlimited data and text I drop about $170/month, so I feel your pain. Verizon was another $30 more a month. Unfortunately I cannot see pricing getting better given that only VZW and ATT will be the major players in the market.

I belive that Alltel's pricing does allow 1-year contracts if you pay a little more for the device; not sure about the others. The other alternative would be to pay a little more and buy the device off of ebay and then have it activated on a month-to-month plan with the carrier of choice. That at least allows you to quit the service and re-sell the phone if it gets too expensive or you are dissatisfied with the coverage.

I actually talked to a friend of mine about the Alltell/Verizon del unfortunatly some details i cannot say out loud, but from the information that I can give Verizon will not carry any of the phones that Alltell has. Which is completly *insert bad word here* dumb. Sigh, and I had hopes that I would get to explore the Glimmer, . I like the Pay by pay method, but it gets actually more expensive with as much time as I spend on the phone. And also I wish The television from Verizon worked in samller areas other then Atlants, or Jaxonville (only 2 cities with the television closest to me).

VZW coverage and service much better. The People working in the local stores are much better. It does bother me that VZW buts all that VCast and junk on aphone and what really gets me is that they think we like or want. Do they not know their customers? Also, VZW does not support WiFi. Sitting at home, it is much better to just be on the Wifi.
