Verizon USB Card

'Q'uestion? Has anyone tried the 'usb card' that verizon offers? I spoke today with a rep at one of the retail locations that filled me in on the particulars. I thought it very cool that this small device, which plugs directly into the usb port in either your desktop or laptop, will give you instant broadband internet access, nationwide, on verizons EVDO network. The rep laid out the costs involved,which I personally could live with, considering the tremendous portability involved and the broadband speeds.
I'd like to find out if anyone out there has used this device, and possibly get thier reviews. It sounds perfect for my particular situation

I just spent 2 hours at Circuit City surfing with that USB modem on a Celeron Vista PC w only 512 Meg in it and the Web experience was good. However when I pulled a couple of speed tests via dsl reports and Speak Easy they were giving around 378kbs down and 78 kbs up with .615 s latency even though VZAM indicated EVDO Rev A. I would like one but cant afford a $60 data plan on that in addition to a $40 data plan on my Q. With those kinds of speed numbers I may as well just put the tethering option on my Q. VZW really needs to do something about these double whammies for multiple data devices.
