Agreed. I remember my old qualcomm phone (a brick) that had a nice scroll wheel, but then Bell Atlantic swapped it for the sony version before becoming verizon.

Music or Audio Anyone get data and tethering for 44.99?

Hello everyone!

I've had the 44.99 unlimited data plan for a year on my 6700 and was always able to tether. But when I got my q9m I had to activate BBA, which made my total data bill 59.99. I just called VZW to get the 29.99 plan (since I don't use exchange or wireless sync) and they told me that with that plan I could not purchase a tethering option. So I would have to pay for the 44.99 plan plus the $15 if I wanted to tether. Questions for the group:

1) Does or doesn't the 29.99 plan have a soft cap?
2) Has anyone been able to get the 29.99 plan AND tethering, for a total monthly of 44.99?
3) If I were to go the way of pdanet, should I get the 29.99 plan, or would it be better to stay at 49.99?
4) Any downsides of pdanet with VZW?

Thanks for your help.

p.

Um scott, today I only worked 10 hrs, so I am ok. but going from 44.95 to 29.99, how did you get it down 40.00?
My current bill is this.
On a family share my line is 113.00
700 minutes (shared)
unlimited text (500 out of network)
unlimited mms
unlimited data (love that part)
Assurion Insurance
20.00 +/- dollars in all the bs taxes and surcharges in pa.
My wife's voyager is on the plan with the insurance, mms, txt, etc.
just no data.
Our bill is roughly 160.00 a month

yea im not sure...it might be because we had 2 Q's now with the 29.99 plan...i guess it might be a little higher after this month after the pro-rate and crap like that...so it might go up
but we also dont have the insurance plans...

I was all set to switch... then I backed off to wait and see how other's luck has been. I currently use Wireless Sync just because it's there. If I decide to switch, how do I deactivate Wireless Sync? I assume just uninstalling it takes care of the phone side of things. Do I need to do anything at the Wireless sync website to turn it off as well?

3) If I were to go the way of pdanet, should I get the 29.99 plan, or would it be better to stay at 49.99? $29.99 for unlimited data and using PDANet has been great, no problems at all
4) Any downsides of pdanet with VZW? It's been just as fast as when I did had the $15 VZW tethering

Thanks for your help.

My opinion is that you should get the $29.99 plan, and try out the free trial of PDANet to see how everything works together... Verizon won't see the PDANet tethering it seems, and you'll also see how well PDANet works for you during that free trial period.
