We ended up getting one of the Q9c for free too but getting that data plan correct has been like pulling teeth. Can't change it myself online either. That was the first thing I tried.

What a headache.

5gig 'soft' Cap

But for 44.99 (what everyone is paying already) you get:
Push Email
Tethering (no longer extra on top of the 44.99 you pay now)
10gig 'soft' Cap

I hope this puts a smile on your face and your wallet. You will most likely have to join up for another 2 years to change your plan but hey...atleast they are now being competative and giving you an option!

If i hear anything else I will be sure to pass it along.

Enjoy
If you go to the less expensive data plan, will Pdanet still function? TIA

But it seems the $44.99 plan STILL does not include tethering. And from what I've read, if you switch to the $29.95 plan there is either NO tethering option, or it costs $30/mo. PDANet, yeah, great, but still.....

I wouln'dt mind paying 45 if tethring was included as part of the service contracted for.

PDAnet is a one time fee

I realize this is probably a non-issue at this point but I recently switched to a data package and the rep directed me to the 29.99 plan. He said that the 44.99 plan still exists but that the cheaper data plan was specifically for "consumers who didn't need corporate solutions" ...

I'm very happy... I was originally on the 79.99 america's choice plan and now with voice AND data, I'm spending 10 bucks less a month for the same service... plus I'm not paying for stupid ESPN or Verizon's godawful mobile email client.

Depending on the two data plans the tethering option has different add-on rates - either way it should add up to $59.99, the same as the data cards rate, so yes it is $30 for the $29.99 plan. Not worth it.

I just called a little bit ago and got the $30/month withou any problems at all.. In fact I was told the same thing as DarkDomino, the 45/month plan is corporate users... Oddly enough you can't changed to the 30/month plan online, and it's not advertised much..

... yeah about the tethering... my Motorola Q came with modem software to allow you to tether. The verizon disc they included also has a bunch of tethering stuff.

I have not tried it yet, but I believe you can tether a connection with the 29.99 unlimited data plan. and even if you can't, that's when you bust out the PDAnet and get serious.

Yes internet connection sharing is a part of WM, just on the verizon phones the link isnt readily available . I set mine up but havent tested it to see if a tethering charge applies. some how I doubt they can tell otherwise they wouldnt include their own tethering software.
