I just talked to my rep and was told that as far as he can see, tethering is still $15. So I guess, in theory, I could still be at the $45 level and have tethering if I don't use push mail. ($30+$15)... Looks like I'll stick to PDANet for my once in a great while connections and probably drop to the $30 plan.

Well guys, a glimmer of hope for the Q1's.
Now this is 'UNCONFIRMED', so please take this with guarded optimism...Please!...

Anyways, I have been notified by an inside source at Verizon that the Q1s will in all likelyhood be added to the $29.99 list.

PLEASE, PLEASE..don't go calling Verizon's CS about this, as they may not know themselves yet. I just don't want to cause any unnecessary hassles for the person who let me know about this.

Give it a couple weeks at least before starting to call about it. Hopefully they'll post a news release in the next few days.

Well I'll tell you that she works for Verizon, and that I'm 100% confident that I'll be getting the $29.99 price... how's that?

Give them til the next billing cycle or something to relelase the info, and if no news release is posted, call them at that point. A couple of weeks at most hopefully, may even be in the next couple 'days'. We waited patiently up til now, so a bit more won't hurt....

You know, I thought about tethering on a technical and legal level, and I can't really see how they can say that we can't use PDANet??
My feeling is that we would pay the $15 tethering fee to VZW 'IF' we were to use their software & network for the tethering... but, all we're using their network for when using PDANet, is their broadband access... am I wrong in thinking that?

So legally I doubt that they can do anything about it, because we are simply using our Q for internet access, to connect to PDANet..

hmm..the end of my billing cycle is the 12th...so i guess i can call then
