I got a refurb that had a messed up speaker and then got a new Q1 to replace that one thru the insurance.

That could be the case, but hopefully the Q1s will be phased out so that they just send me the next equivalent..LOL. I could call them to ask what I'd get since my Q1 was dropped and it was acting up... and if they say they'd send me a refurbished one, I'll just say I'll stick with mine until it's unusable, then I'd send it in (of course then I wouldn't drop it..LOL).

It was just my scheming mind trying to beat the system..lmao.
I'm satisfied with the two months of credits for now, and then I'll deal with this crud when the time comes. I had even considered dropping Verizon, paying the early termination fee and going to Sprints' Sero plan, but my wife isn't having any of that since she just relearned a new phone and refuses to go to Sprint and have to learn another phone. :{

I am also considering just dropping the unlimited data plan for a few months to let them get nothing from me if they won't offer me the @29 price.

I'll cross that bridge when I get to it..

One way is that they run out of replacements. I had an upgrade once and got a new phone because they ran out of refurbs lol.

Default Same frustation; different device.

Original Q owners take heart. Verizon has been offering this plan to Blackberry Pearl owners since it's introduction around November 2007. The thread on Crackberry.com about the Verizon dataplan price change looks exactly like this one.
http://forums.crackberry.com/f61/vzw...45/index2.html

Some people called and the CS rep knew nothing and offered the $24.99 10MB plan. Others called and got the plan switched right away.

Also, in the case of the Blackberry, the plan was established for the Pearl, but Verizon did allow Blackberry World phone customers to sign up for it (if you got a knowledgable rep).

Makes me wonder if Verizon keeps their reps ignorant on purpose.

Dumb question: I use Windows Live Mobile for my Hotmail - that's push, right? My emails come in instantly. Therefore, I shouldn't switch from the $44.99 to the $29.99, right? Thanks.

I believe the push email they are talking about is their push email, wireless sync.

My newest bill just came out and so far the $29.99 is the only data charge on it. If I had a problem, I figured I'd challenge VZW to prove that I'm using push e-mail or doing something that violates the TOS.

I don't think it is an issue but just so you know they very easily can prove you are using push email. The server send a special text message to the phone which tells the phone to connect and download your emails. This would show up in Verizon's system just like any other text message.
