Default Verizon Homescreen? Missing?

Hi to all! Hopefully someone can help? On my main Motorola Q screen, listed with all my various software icons (i.e., Internet Explorer (e), Get Applications, WirelessSync, Windows Media, etc) I have what looks like a "blank white index card with a -blue header on top_" Underneath this blank white index card it says "Verizon Homescreen"

Could I have deleted something or downloading something bad? I'd like to get rid of this. I've done a Sprite Restore as far back as a week ago and alas, to no avail.

Any suggestions out there in Motorola Q Verizon Land? I thank one and all who take the time to acknowledge this quandry and look forward to your replies.

can you download / install another homescreen to see if it's just a corrupt default VZW homescreen file(s)? if all else fails, you could try a master reset.

Can you tell me how I go about downloading another VZW homescreen? That would be great! If I did have to do a master reset, could you tell me which files to back-up? For instance, I've got a lot of programs installed on my mini 2gb card. Would there be any important applications/documents etc. that you might advise as important? Thanks again, I shall await your reply.

Very truly yours,

abb

www.kooldezine.com/Q.htm is a popular site for homescreens...or you can check out the homescreen forum on this site and look at the ones made by other members...

I believe you are referring to the Setup screen for the newer Wireless Sync Messaging Notification plug-in.

Download and install this file. It is the setup file for the newest Wireless Sync. This should restore this icon. Apparently something has gotten moved or deleted, to cause this.

Thank you to all! I ended up doing a master re-set. Thank goodness for my Sprite back-up! A worthy investment indeed! Everything was restored. The particular icon that was missing was what looks like "two cog-wheels" I hope that can be pictured in mind and understood? It's the VZW Wireless Notification Settings. One would check off various items that would show up on the Verizon Home Screen. I suppose it's of no real value of use on an everyday basis but, I was just getting annoyed looking at a blank "index card type" of icon. Thanks again to all for they're help.

Best Regards,
abb
