| Verizon Bill just thought i would share an experience that i have just gone through. i went to go pay my verizon bill online, i log in and see that my amount due is $500.00!!! i nearly fell out of my chair! in a fit of rage i decide to investigate on the verizon page, my wife and i have a family share plan so im thinking great she went nuts on her minutes or something. turns out she used 28 minutes this month (the other 100 were in-minutes) anyways im like how the hell could this be. so i check my number...i have over 2000 minutes logged! never in my life have i ever talked that much in a month on a phone! (we have the 700 anytime minute plan). so im like how the hell could this be!? i decide to call verizon and am all ready to go bazerk (or however you spell that) and tear them a new one. this nice lady, very sweet sounding picks up (which makes me angry that i cant be mean to this lady since she sounds so nice). so i explain the situation, it turns out that they "forgot" to put on the unlimited data plan on my phone!! shes like well i see it here for the first day then it got erased for some reason. i try to politely tell her that she will be eating these minutes and better put the unlimited plan back on. she tells me not a problem we will not be charging you for the minutes acrewed by using the data plan since it was our fault. this shocked me, and what even more shocked me was that she told me she would call me to the next day to make sure it was ok since my bill was due soon. so i checked this afternoon what my bill was and it was reduced to the correct amount and showed the reduction of the obsene amount of overages.
sorry for the long winded story but i just had to share this with you guys! |

| Data Doesn't Use Minutes This doesn't really make much sense. If you don't have a data plan, Verizon charges by the kilobyte, not the minute. So using data should not accrue any minutes -- unless you somehow got Mobile Web added to your account, which does use minutes.

| yea i know it doesnt make any sense to me. if they canceled my data plan i shouldnt have been able to surf the net. it must have had the mobile web plan. there was no KB usage on my online bill like there is now...either way doesnt make much sense to me.. |

| If the Q could use the MobileWeb plan, I'm sure a LOT of people would jump on that. |

| at least VZW caught and owned up to it and did the right thing. I hear a lot of horror stories from other carriers with the same issue where customers were expected to pay up anyways.

So you would have been able to surf the Net, but you'd get massive data charges instead of minutes.
You should check out to see what kind of plan you were on.

That's why I think Hockey should find out what data plan he was on. Maybe people who didn't want the pay-as-you-go data plan could take advantage of it, too.

| well i know for a fact that i had the data plan when igt the phone. i called back to just make sure everything was ok and i asked why it showed up as minutes. the only explaination they could give me was that since the data pakage some how got removed off of the plan, that i was using airtime minutes. she jus kept quoting me my overage minutes and not having any kb usage. beats the he out of me how this happened, but its been resolved and my account now shows my kb usage and i have an unlimted plan. |
