I am sure that VZW is like all businesses when it comes to information about services. Information is disseminated on a need to know basis and on a specific time frame. There are many reasons for this. One, is to minimize a knee jerk reaction to information pre-maturely released. The techo-bloggers are leaked information and it gets to consumers before the company is ready, not just VZW customers. This also works in the government, as well.

I have no further comment on this matter.

funny or maybe just pathetic how it took months for information that was buried in December only starts coming to light to us consumers now. For shame, Corporate America.

Here is the VZW site with the new update. Apparently it has been updated. You no longer see Unlimited and in the second to the last paragraph it outright states the 5GB limit.

This is for those that didn't trust me and wanted to see VZW actually put something in writing.

What I was saying a few posts back is that the Terms of Service have been updated with that language (referring to 5GB) since late last year.

See here from howard forums, January 13th:

Did anyone else notice the new language in the ToS w/ Data? This is the first time I've seen mention of the 5GB cap on data in writing, in addition to more specifics on streaming.
Subsequently, the user goes on to post the Terms of Service with the mention of the 5GB limit and the kickage that will come from abusing it.

Which is why I questioned the validity at first, because they seemed to have been, at least for a few months, comfortable calling this plan 'unlimited' while clearly limiting it in the TOS.

Not really an issue for most users.

The 5GB has been there for a while. The "unlimited" was recently taken out.

But I noticed something on my bill I received today. Under data usage, it lists txt, pix, kb usage, and broadbandaccess connect. The kb usage is for the phone at 59MB and my tethering was 949MB for the month. Next to the usage for the phone it says nothing but next to the broadbandaccess connect it says "unlimited."

Someone over at engadgetmobile.com says the 5GB cap does not apply to tethering. I was under the impression it did. Anyone???

5GB cap applies to all data used by an MDN. whether tethering aircard or just wireless sync/internet data. So for the month you used approx. 1GB.

Official date to have anything corrected is May 15, after that unlmited should NEVER be seen again.....now I gotta stop messing up when I talk to customers cause I still keep saying Unlimited
