Default Two Lines for $39 a Month?

I currently have a $39 plan with $5 Mobile Web on my RAZR. I just bought a Q on EBay and am looking at the Core Data Bundle for $79.

Someone in another forum said they have a family plan with a $9.99 phone with data block and use their Q for data only for $30.

The only drawback is two phones??? Why doesn't everyone jump on this for a savings of $40 a month?

Am I missing something?

The only problem is you have to deal with having two phones and two carriers. I currently have the two lines simply because $9.99 + tax / month * 3 months is significantly cheaper than a $175 ETF... not to mention it lets me take VZW for 2000+ minutes/month in IN-network calling before the free-ride is over. IMHO, everyone should get sprint :-) I don't know of any other plan that is $30/month for 500 anytime minutes and 7pm nights and weekends.... and when you throw in free data --- forget about it... verizon's crazy for charging $45/month

but is the money you save worth the inconvenience of having to carry two phones (one for voice, the other for data)? No am't of money saved is going to make me carry two phones in my pocket.

easier said than done. it's hard to pick a carrier unless the coverage is great in your area. VZW coverage is awesome in my area, Sprint SUCKS.

you can always duct tape or glue them back to back and flip them from one to the other when you want to use the phone or web....

The only reason I carry two phones right now is I frequently talk to two people on Verizon, and they're fairly cheap, so they don't pick up when the Sprint # rings b/c they know I have the verizon line until July. Once that hits... I'll be one-phoning it from now on.

Luckily though, the sprint coverage in central/eastern VA is better than VZW coverage. VZW "roams" NE of Roanoke, VA and SW Fredericksburg... all areas I frequently go. For me... it was a no-brainer.
