Default transferring contacts

The screen on my Q cracked so I got a replacement through the insurance plan, but before I mail back my original Q I need to somehow transfer all of my contacts. I know I can access my Q via the ActiveSync on my computer, but I don't know what file my contacts are stored in. How can I get all of my contact info from my old Q to my new Q?

Thanks for any help.

If you have Outlook, just create a partnership in ActiveSync and your contacts will be synchronized into Outlook.

If you don't have Outlook, you can try copying pim.vol to your PC, but I don't know how well that works.

You can also create a Wireless Sync account and back the contacts up on Verizon's servers.

Send a message via AIM to n99hockey
Default

you could probably even do bluetooth or use the IR port...slower but does the job as well

like steve said...copying the pim.vol might work too...a few other members have tried this

Hey guys...new user here! Thought I would search the forum rather than just post like a noob! Just activated my Q today (that I inherited from my brother) but the folks as the verizon store couldn't transfer my contacts. I am moving from a RAZR. Anyone have ideas? Couldn't find anything bluetooth or IR related on the RAZR. Am I missing something?

You might want to check out third-party phone transfer software, like DataPilot. Use that to sync your RAZR with Outlook and ActiveSync to sync Outlook with your Q.

How is a partnership between Outlook and ActiveSync done? I can't seem to get it to work on mine. The only thing I can get ActiveSync to work with is the device itself-- media, contacts, calender etc will not sync.

Also, how is a Wireless Synch account set up? Okay, got that taken care of. Now my issue is that I have no Wireless Sync icon listed in my Start menu and I get errors when I try to install it.
