Default switching phones on same contract

i just bought a xv6700 from ebay and i want to take my plan from my moto q and put it on the xv6700. how do i go about doing this? is it going to cost me to switch?

call vzw and have them switch the phone for you
it shouldnt cost you anything...they will just have you extend your contract for 2 years!

WRONG!!!! its a 20 dollar handset change fee and there is no contract extension....

i switched my wife to a Q from an LG and they DIDNT charge me but they extended the contract

well then 'just recently' is different from a few months ago
they change there crap all the time....i had her phone changed 3 times prior to the Q (all within a week so it really didnt matter for contract extension) but i was certainly not charged 20 bucks

do you work for them?
perhaps you are right...hell im just saying what i was told
