No, not yet. I was going to go down to the store today. The only problem is that I don't know when the previous owner purchased the phone. Is there a way to check from Motorola?

The ESN tells them quite a bit about the phone. It will even tell them if one of thier tech has previously service the phone for the same issue. BTW, how long have you had it? Sounds like you and your eBay seller may have some customer service issues to resolve. Unless of course, you pruchased the phone knowing it had technical issues.

Default Just take it in...

they'll tell you what's going on with it, but I've never seen them just pull out a new phone to hook someone up. I'm sure it'll be fine...

Also if you have insurance, I do believe that Asurion will replace a phone from a third party.

As long as a replacement hasn't been done on the unit. Again, the ESN will tell them a lot.

Alright, Just got back from verizon. Didn't tell them that I got it off ebay. The only thing that he said was that the 3rd party battery might be doing it. I talked him into sending me a new phone (Refurbished I presume). Should be getting it in a few business days.

normally, if its provided equipment there is no warranty on the device no matter how old it is.

if its over a year old, 50$ fee.. on any phone. unless you have extended warr. if you have wpp (insurance, they can replace it for 50$ and give you a new battery, phone and charger.)
if its under a yr old and has never been activated under anyone elses account it'll be a free replacement.

there pretty much wouldn't be anything to "diagnose" really.. if its under the conditions of under warranty verizon replaces phones. if not 50$...
included for 50$ if theres physical damage to the device.
fyi verizon doesn't do software flashes in stores for pdas =)

Also, what is the current firmware version on the motorola q? I'd like to upgrade it if mine isn't up to date.

Thanks!
If you have insurance, it in good for any phone you have activated. If you have a technical question, Verizon will help you.
