Sometimes the store personnel seem sales driven as if they're working on commission. The customer service personnel on the 1-800 numbers always seem more informed and willing to get you the best deal...probably because the phone call may be monitor for quality asurances...LO L...they're not monitored at the store, so they can tell you BS and try to get away with it.

Success!

My wife went by the Verizon store to see what phone she wanted to get. (We were planning on calling or buying off the internet.) They told her that they would match the internet price. And they did.

Plus they give me another hundred dollars off for getting a data plan! So I ended up paying $70 for my Q!

Thanks everyone for your help. This forum has been a great place to research things and find information.

Great to hear that... Surprised that the store personnel was so cooperative. Did they inform you of the $50 rebate for the Q as well?? That should make it $19 bucks like it was for me...

No, they didn't say anything about rebates. I checked my receipt after reading your post and it says something like "Rebate: Not eligible".

I'm just happy I didn't have to pay the $289 in store price.

I got the same deal -

I got my Q for $19 bucks after the $100 online discount, $100 New Every Two discount, and the $50 rebate.
plus got a flyer in the mail giving 200 additional minutes for being a good customer. The wife and daughter each got a Moto W385 through the New Every Two for nothing. Verizon also increased their coverage in Connecticut (my cousin), so I can go from Ct down to MD (my sister) and be in my home service. I love it!

Nice. Just FYI bestbuy is an authorized dealer so they tack on their own cancellation fees, etc. Verizon stores in Circuit City's are actual verizon stores. The stores always have the same prices as the internet now, its just that online gives you the rebate instantly while stores you mail it in.

Informative Prices

This is the problem: we can get the phones much cheaper via the website - about $220 for both compared to about $400 in store.

So my question is this: If we sign up for two phones and two plans on the website, can we then call or go in to Verizon and have it changed to a family plan?
Look at a different verizon store also. many different verizon stores offer different things. some offer no mail in rebate, but they do offer free accessories(i feel is a rip off). But Also understand that if you get a family plan the only phone that gets the new every two is the primary line. The price of the Q last i checked was 59.99 after mail in rebate when i bought mine around christmas.
