I plan on getting the q soon, and i was wondering on Verizon if i get the pay per KB, how much do you think it would cost to use an instant messenger a month?? If that is the only data charges i used

Virtually impossible question to answer as it would vary depending on how much IMing you do on a daily basis. Best bet is to try it for a month and see.

I have the same question. I know at the Verizon store, they told me a typical website like CNN would be about 4MB of information. I also checked my daily emails and they are usually between 2-5kb.. so I'm guessing that would be a number close to what each IM would cost

Just do the math on it. Say you use 5 megabytes in 1 month. 5 megs @ $0.015/kb will add up approximately $19.20. 5 megs is small. I used 280 megs last month...that would add up to 4200 if I didn't have unlimited but I am also using a lot more....especially at over 1.5 gigs this month
