Question Q9m questions about data plans and txting

Hi,

I'm about to activate a Q9m and have some questions.

I called and the rep told me that I can just have the $10 txt message plan (500 out/ unlimited IN) and wouldn't need a data plan. Is this true???

Here is what I want the phone for:

Sending picture messages
Sending txt messages
Staying organized

I won't be using the internet. I don't need nor want a data plan. I love the phone, the look, and the keyboard.

Thanks!!!

I also wanted to know - I send maybe 15-20 picture messages per month (maybe) What are you charged for this?

I had a Q9m before I left Verizon, and if I recall, if you are not on using one of the monthly data plans, but rather, are on the pay-as-you-go plan (which charges something like 1.5 cents per kilobyte), then you get charged based on this rate for each picture message sent or received. If you have a data block, then you cannot send picture messages at all.

All of this only applies to smartphones, I believe. My wife is still with Verizon and with her "dumbphone" (which does not have a picture messaging plan), she gets charged $0.25 per picture message sent or received.

Thanks for the info!

I read on here that someone stated that with the pay as you go, and with a txt plan, that the picture messaging was minimal - like an extra dollar to his bill???

I'm curious to find out how much each cost him with his Q, so I have an idea what I'm in for?
