Something is using data. My data usage this morning on VZW.com's My Account page said 1.5kb. I just checked it and now it says 15.96kb, even though the data still says "since 2/16" (yesterday).

What is using data? I think that's only 24 cents of data but I still don't want any. I know the 1.5kb was from opening IE and having the VZW page load, but other than that all I've done is send PIX/FLIX messages and text messages. I don't have it syncing e-mail, NO other apps installed besides the ones it comes with, etc.

why dont you do the password for data access hack...so you know when you are about to use data it will prompt you for a password

I was avoiding hacking anything, but I guess I'll have to. Do you have a link to the modification? I found it once but now I can't find it again.

Also, is it known to work right on the Q9m? I thought what I read was very old and for the original Q.

some hacks work for both
open the sticked hack thread (for the orignal Q) and then click the password hack link in the 2nd post

I know, I was curious if anyone has done this particular hack to their Q9m with success.

Also, I did click that link, but the page it goes to has no info on the hack. Maybe the links changed.

Ah, ok thanks, so it's the same on the Q9m? I need to get a registry editor installed and then I'll give it a try. If I skip the modification to the VZQ MMS does that mean it will use the data for picture messages without asking me for a password (which would be nice).

Well I have a Mac, but I have XP installed as a virtual machine (VMWare Fusion).

I can't get the Q9m to work in Windows, but I'm not sure it has anything to do with not having a PC. When I have the list of USB devices to "send" to the Windows operating system, the only thing I have see is "Motorola Remote USB device", which doesn't do anything.

Do I need to install Active Sync to use it through Windows? I was hoping to use the Mobile Registry Editor program to avoid installing any programs on the actual phone.
