I dont think its windows mobile, its either Verizon or the Q. Ive had WM5 devices before and never had an issue like this.

Default Text Issues w/The Q

I've recently been experiencing the same issue with my Q. I contacted Verizon they were not aware of the problem. We did the *228, the removal of the battery, they did a reset etc..It seemed to work for a few days, and now the problem is back. I don't notice that I have any text messages, until I go to use the phone. Then I can hear the beeping sound of new messages arriving. Does not happen with e-mail. I had a Blackberry, also with verizon, and never had a problem. Everything is great with the Q, except for this issue.

Default Same Problem Here...

I am having the EXACT same problem with my Q. I just updated the system (latest from Motorola's website) and I don't think that did anything - it's still acting up. Did the new phone solve it?

I did the same thing you did with the updating of the software from Motorola...and no change. This is really frustrating and one enough to ruin what on the surface started out as a great device. Verizon has no answers. I'm even to the point as a fix calling my voice mail, because then (or if I'm on the on the phone) is when any text messages in queue download to the Q. Of course this not consistent, there are times when messages come as usual. This is a pain!

I am going to go into a Verizon store with this printed out and say this is a KNOWN issue (since at least one other person experiences this) and I want a new phone since I've already tried everything reasonable. Hopefully I get some time to do this soon as this is getting to be completely annoying.

I went through all of the annoying troubleshooting with VZW and they gave me a new phone (probably a refurb). All worked fine for a day and now I'm having the same problems AGAIN!!! I was hopping someone had found a fix and got excited when I saw this thread. Please, if anyone figures out any kind of fix, please post. I had trouble enough finding this thread.

BTW, I've tried all sorts of combinations in terms of master resetting and reloading my stuff with Sprite as well as trying a master reset and reloading my stuff manually. I also tried not installing ANY other software. The problem still exists. It even happened after a master reset where I immediately sent a text to myself while the phone was restored to the factory settings. Still no luck. PLEASE HELP!!!!

Change your phone number, that is the last thing I can think of.

Wow, that's a great idea. Switch the phone # I've had for 10 years, I wish I would've thought of that myself. You are a true genius! No wonder you're able to post 12+ times per day. Why not just pay $175 for early termination and give up? Maybe go back to payphones?
Does anyone ELSE have any ideas. This problem comes and goes. VZW tech support wrote a work ticket for the network techs to examine the issue. I'm supposed to get a call within the next 4 days or so.....

K, you are expecting some miracle cure for a problem that "comes and goes"? And yes, you might be one of those unlucky souls who actually DOES have to give up, or go to the wall with their provider to get a service agreement fulfilled by them

What other suggestions are you looking for? From what you've said above, you have tried everything, so sorry I said anything to bust your balls man. Also, you have 4 days before you will know anything, so i understand your restlessness from waiting.
