Q and Hotmail problems - Motorola Q Forum

Anyone else having problems with their Hotmail account and the Q? Some of the time, when I select send/ receive, it freezes up and after about two minutes I get two error messages. Verizon CSR and MSN where not much help.
I can work around it by going to MSN Mobile Home>Mail. This takes more steps but I can get my contact list. Can't get it with just pressing Hotmail.

This has happened twice to me now in the past week.

I'd downloaded a power monitoring program that locked me up tight and had to do a hard reset and reload. Twice since then Hotmail gave me the same response you've described. I went to Hotmail's page via the VZW on MSN bookmark. After reading email by browser and deleting obsolete messages, the messaging function worked fine.

The second time, I did pretty much the same, accessing hotmail.com by my laptop. Same outcome.

Now, I'm wondering if there might be some odd, intermittent thing with hotmail.

Anyone else have problems with it?

I am having problems too. I get this message:

"Downlaoding message failed. If you are reading it please close the message and try again.

The MSN Mobile Hotmail service reported an error while synchronizing your Hotmail account. Some requests may not have been completed."

But like the first post, I can access hotmail via the route he described.
I wanted to try and delete the account and re-register it but I can't delete it.

Here is the only way I can Get it to work.MSN icon >MSN Mobile >Mail. This way has worked and no hangups!

i can't use the hotmail on the Q. my email has the _ (underscore) key in it twice and i can't seem to find it on the phone lol!

Hold the "ALT" button and push 'shift'. I have it in my hotmail address, also.

I had the same probs for a min... I found out that the DST patch was part of the prob. Dunno if u've tried that... but if not, give that a shot. Worked for me. I'm having no probs now!

What and where is the DST patch? My work around seems to get me to my Hotmail but I can't download any attachments.

It is the Daylight saving time patch. (my view is set on 'one column')
go to ie; menu; favorites; explore windows mobile
In the search bar i typed '2007 daylight saving time patch'
(notice not 'savings')
about 1/4 of the way down i clicked on the link that read 'Download details: Windows Mobile Updates for Daylight Saving Time...'
a little more than half way down click 'Download'
i had to scroll down to where it said to start download if i was not redirected in 30 sec... then follow the instructions to download to ur device... i think there is a spot where u have to accept the agreement.... but i think u'll get it... good luck
