Default Motorola Q9m cost?

Hi everyone,

I'm a Verizon family plan (3rd line) and my 2 year contract for my line is up in early February.

I was looking at the Juke, Chocolate, etc. but I have always liked the Motorola Q and I would like to get the Q9m because I think I would rather be stuck with a nice phone for 2 years instead of the Juke (which I think I would get tired of).

As always, I don't really like buying Verizon phones because every store seems to have a different price and deal.

What are the current deals on the Q9m? I will be renewing my contract 2 years and NOT purchasing a data plan (pay as you go with Data block if possible). I also may sign up for the $10/month SMS/MMS plan.

The main line on our plan is eligible for the new every two discount, but it seems like when I try to get that online, it takes the $100 online discount away and ends up costing more... Would it be a problem to get the phone with this discount and then use it on a different line?

Thanks! Hope that wasn't too confusing!

perhaps going to their web site or calling them will give you a good idea on promotions (if any)..

Mine actually came out to Free!!!!! I used my New Every 2 and they also had a end of year sale. With the online discount, NE2, End Of Year Sale, and Mail in Rebate, I paid $8.00 is taxes. Not so bad! OH!!!, and I think its a great phone. My first smartphone, and It's awesome!!!!!!!

So far, I have checked online and found the price is $249.99 with $100 online discount and $50 rebate. Ends up costing $100+tax, which to me is a great price.

However, if I log into My Account and try to use the New Every Two (which I'm not sure if it's $100 or $50), but the $100 online discount disappears and it ends up costing the same! I would pay $100 though, as that's what I usually spend. Is this $100 online discount really online only?

Haven't gotten to a store yet. WalMart has great VZW prices, but doesn't carry the Q. I have to check BestBuy and CircuitCity, but their websites only have new 2 year contract prices and no upgrade price. I wasn't sure if BestBuy usually has good prices or the ability to sell upgrades.

Would I have any problem ordering the phone online using the New Every 2 credit for the main line, and then activating the phone under my (different) line (same account, it's a family plan)?

Thanks!

Ok, so on VZW.com they have the Q9m listed as $249.99-$100 online discount with a $50 mail in rebate.

Are those prices for new 2 year contracts only? When I log into My Account and click upgrade phones, it shows as $249.99 with no $100 online discount. The $50 rebate is still there though.

Does anyone know why there's no $100 discount when I try to get the phone as an upgrade?

I won't have a chance to get to the store (none very close to me), but I will check as soon as I do get there.

The $100 discount is only if you get the data plan. Also, if you get a data block you cannot send/recieve mms, but sms still works.

I just read a couple threads that say that's not true, now they changed it and SMS/MMS don't count towards the pay as you go data plan.

The $100 discount says "online instant discount" it doesn't mention that you need a data plan.

I know there's a bunch of people on here that have the 9Qm without a data plan, you guys all paid $250 for your phones with a 2 year contract?

Yup, the price ($250) hurt a bit, but it's a solid phone and I felt it was worth it. Still cheaper than an XV6800 or i760.

I was just out and saw a Verizon store that I didn't know existed, so I stopped there to check out the Q. They had it for $249.99 with a $50 mail in rebate. (ouch). They take $100 off if you sign up for a data plan, but I don't want that.

$200 is a bit expensive for me. I was hoping I could find it for around $150.

Here's another question for you. The main line on our account is eligible for New Every Two, but like their phone and don't want a new one. Could I use this discount towards my line? Kind of like buying it under theirs but activating it under mine? If that's possible, is it possible without having that phone around? Our main line is currently on vacation.

I have another question and didn't want to make another thread. When I go to vzw.com and look at the phones they offer, the Q9m shows as $249.99 with $100 online instant discount and $50 mail in rebate. That means $149.99 up front.

When I access My Account by logging in and choosing Upgrade My Phone (I'm eligible), the Q9m shows as $249.99 with $50 mail in rebate. No $100 online discount. Why is this?

2 online chat reps from Verizon couldn't figure out why. One gave me the number for the web sales department and they couldn't tell me why either but I have to call back again.
