Thanks. It probably was the person you got. I was definitely polite and nice. I didn't threaten to not renew my contract until I asked to speak with the supervisor and wasn't get anywhere with him. It seemed to me that what they were telling me was correct in that the $100 discount was for new customers, thus the reason why you cannot see it when logged into my account. The worst part about it is the chance of anybody else getting that same rep or one who would make the reduction is probably not highly likely.

i actually had to contact verizon more than once..
the first person i talked to said the same thing...that it's only for new customers....

that's because some people are close minded and cannot conceive that JUST MAYBE...the website might be in error...and it doesn't make sense how EVERY other phone has an online discount except that one....

just keep calling back...

Yes online discount CAN'T be just for new customers. Most of the other phones have the same or a similar online discount and when I click Upgrade My Phone, the other online discounts appear in the cart! That's going to be my argument. Your best bet with reps is to just say ok thank you, hang up, and call back. Arguing isn't worth it unless you get 5 that all say the same thing.

the guy I talked to gave me no argument at all..he was just helpful and gave me exactly what I wanted...
I believe his name was Chris. I talked to him on a Friday at around 5pm..if that helps anyone

I just got off the phone with the national support number and with web support. They basically reiterated that the $100 was for new customers. At this point, it's either take it for $200 after mail-in or wait and see if any discounts become available for existing customers. Also, once you call and they document their reason for denying the discount, it's pretty tough to get them to honor it in the future. They ask for your cell number and last four social so they can document the call in the computer system.

Yup, same here. Called tonight and got told the same thing. They document is so calling back they just read what the last rep wrote.

Just a heads up, the Q9m is $129.99 at BestBuy for anyone that is eligible to upgrade (24/24 months for BestBuy upgrade according to the price sticker at the store). Not a bad price...

Thanks for the info. Are you going to purchase from BB? I guess you'd be saving $20 more over the NE2 price plus mail-in? This probably won't help me because I won't be 24 mos until this summer.

i tried the web service too the first time, and they also told me the discount was only for new customers....

if they recorded anything for me, then it didnt matter, cause i eventually got the discount...

and i'm not so sure they are taking your information so they can say that you tried to get a discount for future reference...it's more so that they can verify if you are eligible at all, and to see if they are actually helping an existing customer...

I tried, trust me, they wouldn't budge. Talked to 2 managers. None said it was for new customers only, they said that it was an advanced device credit and the reason the regular phones have an online discount that isn't an advanced device credit is that the Q also has a mail in rebate. In other words, no one really sounded like they knew what they were talking about, but numerous people all told me the same thing.

Finally got a nice lady that ended up helping me out but I still have my doubts whether it's going to work or not. She didn't understand why the managers were saying I couldn't get the discount either, so she helped me do a few things to get it or something.

It's complicated, so no sense in explaining it if it doesn't work. My Q9m shipped and should come on Wednesday. The rep is calling me back Wednesday evening (after verifying that the phone arrived) and she is going to walk me through all the things she told me to do.

Will let you guys know then if it all works out. If it does work it'll end up costing $49.99 after the $50 mail in rebate and $50 NE2 credit.

How much is it going to cost you if it doesn't work? $150 after NE2 + mail in?
