I have a newish Motorola Q9m through Verizon. I have the pay-as-you-go data plan (with password hack to avoid internet usage) and the $10/month unlimited-in txt and mms plan.
Everything has been working great, but a few weeks ago I got about 20 picture messages in a small amount of time. As it was receiving the messages, it gave me an error saying "Error: Cannot receive all messages" and "Cannot connect. Please ensure you have service and try again."
Since then, this happens 9/10 times when receiving a picture message. Because it cannot connect, the message just displays the "This message must be downloaded," as if I had the data block. If I push download I get the same errors as above, however ONCE AND A WHILE (like 1/20 times) it'll download the picture and display it.
I'm hesitant to bring it into a Verizon store because they'll want to replaced my phone and I don't think that is the issue.
I would, but I did the hack the first day I got the phone. Had it about a month now and this just started happening. When it worked I received hundreds of pictures with no issues...
The hack is the only mod I have done and PHM Registry Editor (to do the hack) is the only program I have installed on the device.
I gave it a few weeks to see if it cleared up. Still can't receive a picture message. Once in a while if I open one of the old messages up and push download it'll come through, but usually it gives me that error.
Over the phone Verizon says they can't help. At the store they can't figure it out. I guess I'll have to ask for a replacement phone? Sure doesn't seem like a phone issue though...
