Messaging Plans w/ MotoQ

I have heard so many different stories from CSR's and people about this topic.

I want a MotoQ, and I have the Unlimited Messaging to VZW customers/500 for non-VZW customers messaging plan currently.
I want to buy a MotoQ and transfer this messaging plan to it. I DO NOT want the $40/month Data Package. The CSR's are telling me that I will be charged around $.81 per txt/pix/flix message if I do not have the data package. I have talked with someone who actually has a Q, and they said that I can buy the Q, and transfer my current messaging plan to it, and it wouldnt cost any more for messaging. I do not really need the internet/email, thus I am not getting the data package.

Can someone tell me if it is true that I can transfer my current messaging plan over to a Q, and it would not cost more for messaging? This is WITHOUT the data package plan. This is a family shareplan, only for one line, and I need to transfer my messaging plan without it charging me $.81 or more per kilobyte or txt/pix/flix message.

I can't exactly answer your question, but I had to get a text message plan on top of my data plan, else I'd be charged for every single text message.

Thanks. I've researched this all day, it it is just too much. It seems there is no other way to have just a unlimited messaging plan on the Q without the $40/per month data package.

I know that you can add a messaging plan (text/pix/flix) to your Q just like you can on any other phone. I just carried my text plan over from my previous phone.

I just edited to add that I currently have the Unlimited Data plan as well, although I am trying to see if I can discontinue that and just keep the texting plan. I will let you know if they let me.

Mine is like this also, which sucks because its like buying insurance on texting...lol

i had to buy the data plan for a month and then they said that the following month to simply cancel the data plan and add a text plan. hope that helps!
