Default Is the Data Plan a must with the Q?

I called to remove the Unlimited Data plan on my Q and was told by the CSR that I have to have the package for the phone to work. Thats not true is it? Now if I wanted to use the phone for data then I would need it. But for just scheduling and phone calls I don't.

the phone will still work and data will still work...you will just get charged and a per kb basis if you use data
so make sure you either put a data block on with your provider or go to the hack section and use the hack that makes you input a password before data is used

If you have the pay as you go, and the $10 txt plan, how much are you charged to send picture messages? I send "maybe" 15-20 per month

THANKS!!!!

If you get a data block, you will not be able to send and receive pix messages. You do not need a data plan to send pix and there is no charge. You just need the txt/pix plan.

This information is about 6 weeks old. I would double check just to make sure.

I can confirm that's true. Just talked to a Verizon rep a little while ago about it and that's exactly how they described it.

The data plan from Verizon is a rip.

not really. Verizon is very very good and their coverage is one of, if not the best. So for companies who have to have the field reps connected at all times, Verizon is the way to go. $45 doesnt seem like that much when you have to have it and use it all the time. Its not that much more than internet for home computers. And the internet access through phones is one of the main reason companies buy Data for phones. I use it all the time. =)

$45 may not be a rip but compared to Sprint's @ $15?? I was with VZ for 20 plus year but when I wanted to go to a smartphone I had no choice (for my budget) but to switch to Sprint.
