Smile help

I've been having a problem where my phone stops receiving signal without telling me.. it says i have bars. but what happens is my phone will keep "dialing" the call. and it wont stop "dialing" unless i restart my phone, then when it turns on i find i have missed calls and unread txt msgs. can anyone help please? anything i'm doing wrong? like a program i'm closing, or maybe my Q isn't up to date. I'm running windows mobile 5.0 and os 5.1.195. any help is appreciated. thank you all!

What happens when you call your voicemail?

Hmm, this is a wierd one man. Backup and Master Reset might just cut to the chase, I don't really know what other options you have aside from taking the phone into a dealer

The exact same thing keeps happening to me. In addition though, my phone just sometimes turns itself off. I suspect that might be due to the extended battery getting slightly out of line or something. The cover for the extended batteries is woefully loose.

DId you get your phone new from VZW? Could it be you're on an older firmware? I had that exact issue prior to MOL2. In the original firmware, it was fixed by disabling ActiveSync's Exchange server polling (which MOL2 fixed as well).

Also, are you using WirelessSync? There could be an issue of you trying to dial (or a call coming in) right when a data connection is being initiated. Regardless of the case, definately call VZW if for no other reason than the problem being notated on your account to expidite replacement down the line if necessary.

Hi, Yes mine is from VZW. I'm not using any of the sync options just yet (I use a mac and haven't gone to the trouble of getting things setup, plus I'm not sure I really need it). I'm not sure what firmware i'm on. I'm running 5.0 with 14960.2.4.0. Where do you get this MOL2 update? The suggestion to call VZW and report it is a good one. Thanks.

Found info in another thread about the firmware numbers. Looks like I'm on MOL1.

another thing to potentially try is dialing *228 and then selecting option 2... that updates, from verizon, the cell tower information, perhaps your phone is just useing old info from the cell towers and cant hold a signal
