Default speaking of fees

speaking of fees, don't forget you might qualify for the $30-$60 2006 Federal Excise Tax Credit (i knowTurboTax reminded me of this) when you do your taxes.

I personally have never changed the option. Ill take a look at it tomorrow and call a few people to get more details on this. However, Verizon categorizes its cancellation "type". Most people have the "STND" which is the $175 that you gotta cough up. I have a meeting with my VZ rep tomorrow so ill ask about it.

Here's an interesting tidbit. Just saw on engadget that Verizon might be buying Alltel. Wouldn't my circle be nice for verizon, with rollover, unlimited text to my circle, unlimited calling to my circle. AH if only they would carry that through...

So, if you are on a plan that gives you too many minutes, you never actual have an option to use the minutes because by the time you can change your plan, they have expired. It does work if you fluctuate a lot from month to month OR if you don't mind signing a new contract half way through to go to a smaller plan (of course if you do that they may wipe away your roll over minutes anyway).

Here is my general rule . . . cell phone companies will screw you one way or the other. ALL of them! So never be afraid of the cancellation fee and you have a lot more power. I figure one cancellation fee equals about the cost of one month or a month and a half . . . so I don't mind pullng that card.
Att roll over minutes are not a scam an u can change your plan anytime u want lets say u got 700 minute plan and u got 1200 rollover minutes if u change your plan to 550 minutes then yes u do only get 550 rollover minutes so if u stay on the same plan it is better ,, but i dont think its a scam i love my rollover minuts

It's so tempting to switch to that. I have the $79.99 plan, but I really watch my minutes and rarely go over. The temptation of having unlimited minutes though...

Who needs rollover. With the company I work for (which I will not name) we just do not extend contracts when you want to change plan minutes, so you simply pay for what you need, and no more.
