Default Frozen Q Anyone?

I just got my Q (Black) from Verizon yesterday. All in all, I'm fairly happy. I am having a VERY annoying problem though. I have had the whole system freeze up on me numerous times. After waiting a couple of minutes, I end up having to remove the battery to unfreeze it. It has happened 3 times when trying to "Kill" a internet explorer webpage under the task manager, and 1 time while simply adjusting the sounds for various alerts in the settings manager.

Anyone else have this problem? I'm still within my 15 day trial, so I will send it back if this is the way it operates.

If you just got it back and haven't customized/hacked it too much, you might want to see if a Master Reset resolves the lockup issue..

damn my 2nd Q is freezing up too (after less than a week). It even does the suddenly shutdown and have to take out battery to get it going again too.

I just HATE going to the VZW stores. They never seem to just want to swap out my Q. They always want to hold it for a few days leaving me with my thumb up my ass. There's no way I'm doing that.

Is there an easy method to deal with the VZW people to get them to swap out my Q right then and there (on a Q / account that has frequent problems)?

I'd still suggest trying master reset.

I just hate doing master resets. it's the equivalent of telling a regular PC owner to re-format and reinstall Windows every time something goes wrong. It's such a pain once the master reset is done to put your settings back again and know that at any time you'll have to do it again.

I hate it as well, and really only suggest it as a last resort. I'm sure you'd agree that there are times when you do have to reinstall WIndows/reimage a PC.

Try a different Verizon store. I have had to switch out two Treos and one Q and I had no issue at all.
