Actually, $45 a month is
exactly as high as it seems -- $45.

It's just that the other plans can cost much more if you exceed certain transfer limits.
I don't know if it's still true, but at one time T-Mobile offered $20 unlimited data plans if you had a voice plan. That was a couple of years ago, I believe, so it probably wasn't 3G, but come on. Most people probably aren't paying $45 a month for broadband Internet at home. (I know -- you're paying a premium for both Verizon's network and for mobile data access in general, but it's still too much. I'm paying it, but I wish it were more like $20 or $25 for unlimited data.)
