Default Does Q use local internet when plugged into computer?

Hi,
New Q9m user...

When I've got the Q plugged into my computer via the USB and I go to IE on the Q, does it use the local internet or does it connect through VZW?

Thanks,

Okay, so I got the phone at work today. Plugged it in to my PC via USB and it does go through that internet (as I want it to). I don't have a data plan, and would rather just buy a wifi card for the q9m. I then went home to hook it up to my Mac. I have Missing Sync all set up. However, I can't seem to get a pass through from Missing Sync to the internet connection on my Mac.

Is there a way to get it to use the mac's internet connection via BT (or USB?).

Thanks,
Liam
