Data Plan

I plan to get a Q in March when my "New Every Two" is up. I could use some input on which data plan to get. I will use the Q for a phone but not for text messaging. I will also check my Hotmail account and perhaps a news source once or twice a day. Do you think I could get away with the 10mb plan or should I get the unlimited Core Choice? It's a difference of about $15 a month. Does anyone have the 10mb under similar circumstances?

Watch ur megabyte usage! Any streaming can use up a lot of megabytes, and also, checking one news source as you put it could easily eat the 10mb a month. Just get the unlimited and enjoy all the internets have to offer.

While the unlimited is technically not unlimied, rather Verizon will say something to you if, the consensus is, you go over 5GB which is alot.

I stream Sirius a couple times a week, get yahoo pop mail sent to my Q, check news and yes some light porn surfing haha...and I am using anywhere between 500MB and 1GB per month.

So I do not know how people get by by with less than 10MB? If you got a few large pics sent to your email a month...you could be doomed and seeing a huge monthly bill for going over.

I do not know a single person who has not gone wayyy over on the 10 mb plan. As far as im concerned go all the way or not at all. Once you find how capable the q is youll be on it all the time anyways.

i'm on the "unlimited" data plan . . . is there a quick, easy way to check on your Q how much data you've used? like a *-number-number-number?

#data or #3282, that covers both data and texting.

damn, i just realized there's no text for numbers on the Q "dialpad". Can you still just enter #DATA on the keypad (I tried to and just got *'s)? Like what if I wanted to dial 1-800-MATTRES (leaving the last S for savings)? Do I have to create a text to number header image or is there a way to do it natively within Windows Mobile?

Sprint is the only carrier I know of with a "NO Strings Attached", and cheap, I might add, data plan. I watch my slingbox all the time when I'm at work. Thats like 4x a week.

It must be entered as #3282. That is the only way the data messaging to find out your usage works.
