Default Convince me to buy a Q!!

I am debating between the Palm Treo 700w and the Black Motorola Q. I like the look of the Q much better, and have always been a Motorola fan. What are my advantages to getting the Q over the Treo?

here's 2 off the top of my head . . .

1. price - with a $100 New Every Two credit (& $79.99 / month unlimited data plan), the Q is free (silver would be free, the black is an extra $50). Even with New Every Two, you'll still drop a couple hundred for the Treo.

2. size - put a Treo in your front pants pocket, then try it with a Q. It's a whole different world.

Of course the Q gets the nod on look. But what about functionality.

I found the Q to have a better keyboard feel than the Treo. It is much smaller, has no ext antenna, and looks WAY cool in black

Actually, support is a much needed commodity. If you have been on hold for an hour with technical support, it would be nice to know that you had help available. I would say that consumer forums are a great seller.

If you're choosing between the Treo 700w and the Q, they both run Windows Mobile so all you're really comparing is form-factor. The 700w has a stylus & touchscreen, the Q uses a scroll wheel (a la blackberry). Take your pick.

It's much different if you're comparing the Palm-based Treo 700p to the Q.

I definately want to go the Windows Mobile route. Let me ask a couple of specifics.

1) I know it's not built in to the Q, but is there a way to use WiFi? You know, jump onto your home wireless network, or maybe a hotspot? Or is the internet accessed only if you subscribe to one of the data packages?

2) If you do have a data package, am I able to access my home computer somehow? A buddy of mine uses the Treo 700w, and can actually access his home computer as if it's a remote desktop connection.

3) What exactly can you use the infared port for on the Q?

Thanks for all you prompt responses guys, it's very helpful.

On the Q? No WiFi, I don't think so, but someone else can chime in on this one.

Search the forums for a thread about setting up remote desktop connection on the Q. I remember reading about it either here or over at qusers.com? And it DID work, but I don't know how much better than doing it on a Treo?

Again, other people can chime in on this one, but you can use the IR port to beam contacts directly to another smartphone / pda. I've been able to beam contacts from my Handspring Visor over to my Q easy. Any other apps for the IR port, I'd love to know. And I've beamed over games to another Palm device, but haven't tried it yet with the Q.
