You know what? I think I'm wrong about this. I believe the Q runs the Smartphone version of WM while the Treo runs the full-PDA version of WM (so I believe you can edit Office docs out of the box). Or does the Q and Treo both run the same version of WM? Can someone else confirm this?

Quick answer for #2 in the posts above. Use avvenu. Set it up on the computer you want to activate and use avvenu from the moto q and you have full access to your computer from a remote location for free. Also allows you to stream music if you use itunes.

"3) What exactly can you use the infared port for on the Q?"

I used the infrared port to transfer my documents, contacts and calender from my PDA to my Q. You should be able to transfer files from one Q to another Q, though I've not tried it. You would have to get two Q users together to find out. Theoretically (if you have the app) you can print from your Q's infrared port to a printer so equipped. I think I saw a app that you can use to change the channels on your tv using the infrared port.

Because the Treo has a touch screen, it has a slightly different version of WM5.0. The VZW's Treos have the full set of Office apps.

Thanks for all the help guys. I think my mind is made up for the Black Q. It's just too sweet of a phone to pass up on.

An earlier poster mentioned something called "avvenu" for accessing your home computer from the Q. Where can I get some info on this?

Thanks again.

How about the 700w only has about 10 MB free after all the phone stuff loads? A better comparison would be the Q to the Treo 750.

Its an easy way to access your files on the go for free. You simply install the program on the host computer and then access it from any other computer connected to the internet including mobile phones.
