Bluetooth GPS (T815 or Pharos) on Q?

I would like to be able to use a Bluetooth GPS receiver with Google Maps (considering the Pharos Bluetooth GPS) or use the Motorola T815 to provide similar capability. Anybody have any experience with either of these products?

I have heard that Verizon blocks at least some location-finding services so you're forced to subscribe to their service (I believe a guy from Google told me that Maps could approximate my position via cell towers, but that feature doesn't work with Verizon because VZW blocks it). So I'm nervous about getting either one of these, even the Moto T815.

This is with a regular old silver Q with unlimited data plan.
