Default Blocked Ports?

I have been doing some occasional light tethering with PDAnet, and noticed that a few ports seem to be blocked. PPTP vpn (port 1723) doesn't work, Kerio VPN (TCP and UDP ports 4090, only UDP seems blocked), Citrix (UDP 1604, TCP 1494, maybe 2598)

What is up with Verizon trying to limit what we do with our data connections? Anybody else seeing this?

LOL im sure they probably arnt blocked if you pay for the tethering.....Just saying because you asked what is up. Looks like even though they cant tell when you are thethered they can block many of the popular ports used for buiness traffic ;)

Edit: The reason? To make money. I cant fault them for that.

From my research, it looks like it's because I'm on the $30 data plan, not the $45 data plan. Guess I'll have to live with it, as I'm not paying Verizon another cent.

Wow, how interesting. Blocked UDP/FTP VPN ports on the $30 plan? Looks like VZW definitely wants this plan restricted to consumer use only. I'm sure that since Wireless Sync via VZW Exchange servers is also blocked, they would just LOVE to disable Corporate Exchange via Active Sync as well but har har they can't! At least not yet.

They can never disable corporate exchange (port 443, same as SSL webistes).

I also tested VPN over the DNS ports, which must be open, and it didn't work, so they have some sort of intelligent proxy on the network.
