Default $20 Unlimited PDA data w/ 800 SMS & 100 MMS

The PDATP Plan includes the following:
  • $20 monthly access charge
  • Unlimited1 monthly kilobyte
  • 800 monthly TXT Message allowance
  • $.10/ message after allowance
  • 100/ mo PIX-FLIX allowance
  • $.25/ PIX-FLIX after allowance
Promo code is PDATP.
Your account will show as:
  • UNL PDA 800 TXT 100 (Verizon's MyAccount page).
  • UNL PDA 800 TXT 100 PIX $20 i(Verizon's Paper Bill).
How to get the PDATP Plan?
  1. Call Verizon Customer Service: *611 on your VZ Mobile Phone.
    1. (Try to do something while you are making this call (ie: read a book, watch TV, Chase your kitten) as it may take a while)
  2. Press 4 for "Other Options"
  3. Press 5 again for "Other options & information"
  4. Talk to Verizon CSR about the PDATP Plan.
    1. Mention that its the Plan w/ PDATP code.
    2. Mention its the Unlimited PDA Data, 800TXT, 100PIX Plan
    3. PDATP "maybe" classified as a "text messaging option" plan, NOT a data plan, so it may help to mention this when speaking to your CSR
  5. Be put on hold a few times so Verizon CSR can get authorization from their managers.
  6. Finally hang up and jump for joy for saving an extra $25.99/mth ($623.76/2yrs) and it only took you 30-60 mins of your precious time!
  • Simply giving the CSR the plan code PDATP may not get you the plan. Give the plan code PDATP and then give the description immediately. They should be able to find it"
  • Plans w/ VZW are regional, and the PDATP plan is in the system but not on the current promo list distributed to some CSR's"
    • A poster has been told by a VZW Rep that "PDATP plan is offered in our I2K market which is from the middle of NJ & north"
    • Not fully confirmed
  • Locations that have been APPROVED:
NY:
Long Island, New York, Scarsdale, & Queens
MA
Boston & Springfield
MI
White Lake, Lansing & Macomb
IN
Indianapolis
NJ
northern New Jersey
PA
Lancaster
  • Locations that have been DENIED:
Farmington, CT
Baltimore, MD
Miami, FL
Long Island, NY
Colorado Springs, CO
Orange County, CA
San Francisco, CA
Chicago, Il

So... if you get denied... by the VZW CSR keep in mind the PDATP Plan that:
(according to Treocentral.com forum posters)
  • You DO NOT need a Business/Corporate Account
  • You CAN have a FamilyShare Plan.
  • You CAN add this plan to ANY PDA type device.
  • You DO get "Unlimited" Data service.
  • You DO get 800 TXT and 100 PIX-FLIX allowance.
  • The PDATP Plan is not expired to date!
(Still need info if this plan even have an expiration date.)
Here is the ORIGINAL thread: Treocentral.com
According to this thread... it was still active as of January 28, 2007!!!!
I"m gonna Try it!!!
Also, if you could help all other fellow posters by stating your location and/or area code, I'll add it to the list so others can see if their region is eligible.
Good Luck!
UPDATE:
I was able to get it after calling for a second time.... 1st time I was denied.. and was told it was only for corperate customers.
So I called again this time I called (800) 2 JOIN IN
I was transfered to customer sevices and then to the data team. The customer service team said it was under the coorperate plan screen but she was still able to add it. to my personal plan.
So my bill will be $75/mo (including taxes, insurance, ringback tones....) for my:
  • 450 minutes (peak)
  • Unlimited data (w/ NO monthly limits)
  • 800 Txt messages
  • 100 PIX

My friend just did it on Friday; they told him that there is no expiration date. Customer Service is only open in my region M-F so I'm gonna keep my fingers crossed.

Hey all I am at work right now (wireless zone) where we sell vw any way i just got of the phone with them and they said through all the confusion that it is only to Business accounts now as of 1/13/07 they have changed that. If anyone can add this still and are not on a business account let me know.

I'm in Seattle WA and the rep I spoke to didn't know anything about it, but suggested it may be an "East Coast" plan.
