Select carrier and the q9c
be sure you phone usb connection is in enhanced network mode that is the best to use for the update software.
Please note i did have a problem with the update software backing up my contacts and other items and giving back an error code. The work around would be to backup your programs and contacts yourself with activesync and do not have the software update do this for you.

for some reason the q9c is not listed select the v3m as phone type. The phone type does not matter as the software is for all motorla phones.
