When will 6.1 be offered for USC customers?

there has been no talk of upgrades for anyone other than AT&T and Sprint.

I talked to my local rep about a week ago. We have been in touch because we have 15+ of these Q9c's on our business plan and all of the phones are experiencing the random rebooting issue. He sent me the following last week (I removed his name/email etc to protect the innocent):

I attended a Windows Mobile training yesterday morning and have some
additional information:

> They expect to have an answer for the software fix by the end of the week
(hopefully) but are not sure on how they are going to make it available. I
will let you know when I have more info.

> US Cellular will be rolling out an upgrade to Windows Mobile 6.1 in
October and this should be downloadable off their website. This is basically
the same as Mobile 6 but with an enhanced user experience. I will also let
you know on this when I have more information.

> Plans are also to enable the GPS feature possibly with the 6.1 rollout if
possible otherwise by early 2009. Because of software development time these
dates are not sure. It appears to get the GPS to work properly it has to be
aimed at a defined application and at this time they are testing apps from 4
different vendors. I will keep you updated.

So it would appear that all of our fondest dreams are coming true. I was keeping my fingers crossed that the update on Motorola's site would be the 6.1 update... *sigh* ... no avail. So I guess we will have to wait for that.

Thought you guys would want to see this though. The employee that sent this mail to me is a representative at a local US Cellular retail store. So this is just a repeat of information he got at the USC training session he attended.

Thank's for the update info USCQUSER.

I have had my Q9c for about a month and have been watching for the 6.1 update. At least now I know when to look for it to be available.

I still don't understand about the whole GPS thing,

Does this mean it will be available and probably have to pay extra to use the service (whatever it is) ?

Where did you download it? I have had this problem since I got my 9c, even after exchanging it.

its not the 6.1 update but its a software update for the existing software

Thanks! I will go off digging, but do you have a link that you could post or pm? I tried a previous link (don't know if it was to this update, or a supposed 6.1 update), but got an error page.
